Belgium is known for the world, for the Ardennes pate, Belgian chocolate, beer and, of course, waffles. The country has to offer so much more - in fact many people say that Belgian cuisine offers the qualityFrench cuisine, but with the size of the portions you get in German cuisine, and there is in fact causes a certain amount of truth.

Some of the most popular dishes of Belgium are as follows:

- Gegratineerd chicory (French: Chicon Gratin) - endive (chicory as a bitter taste) cooked in melted cheese.

- Kippenwaterzooi (French poulet de Waterzooi) - Chicken Stew with potatoes, leeks and carrots in butter, cream and eggs.

- Gueuze in Konijn (French: Lapin à la Gueuze) -Belgian Beer Gueuze boiled rabbit.

- Luikse ALS (French: Salade Liégeoise) - Green bean salad with onions, bacon and vinegar.

- Mosselen-Friet (French: Moules frites) - mussels and fries.

- Fence In 't Groen (French Anguilles au vert) - A mixture of herbs, soup and eel.

- Stoemp - mashed potatoes, seasoned with bacon and cream usually with herbs and spices. Tubers can be added at other times.

- Viszooitje (French: de Waterzooipoissons) - fish soup (bottom, carp, eels and pike), with potatoes, leeks and carrots in butter, cream and eggs.

- Vlaamse stoofkarbonaden (French carbonnade Flamandes) - stewed beef, like ground beef Bourguignon (French: Boeuf Bourguignon), but cooked in Belgian beer instead of wine.
